About Us
Our bow rehairs are beloved by regular clients from the Royal Opera House, BBC, Philharmonia, National Symphony Orchestra etc. See reviews.
Our team shares experience in producing finest quality rehairs for bows by the great makers, as well as in optimizing the sound & setup of instruments by many important names in violinmaking.
Before developing these skills, we were players with several years of experience just like you, so you can be assured that we understand and strive to achieve the results you’re looking for.
Our professional experience has included playing as an international soloist, orchestral concertmaster, as well as a chamber musician.
A performer's point of view gives us a unique advantage, bridging the gap between the world of archetiers and musicians. We believe a great rehair affects the balance, tension, articulation and response of a bow in ways performers can't always describe, yet desire.
We can be equally helpful when it comes to the comfort of holding a bow. The thumb leather and winding/lapping can be quite a personal preference and requires a true understanding of how a bow feels while performing demanding repertoire.
As a member and winner of a national award from the Heritage Craft Association, we are proud to help represent lutherie and archeterie in the vast range of specialised crafts that the UK has to offer.
We are also proud members of the British Violin Maker's Association.
As participants in the courses for Advanced Bow Rehair & Restoration held by the BVMA in Somerset, we are fully supportive of this wonderful organisation. We also encourage our clients to attend the annual Maker's Day in London, where one of our own made violins was picked and played first in the Kreutzer Quartet's concert.
